Print and personalize your own printable Retro Dog Christmas Card! Print on cardstock from your printer or take to a print/copy store for high-quality paper printing. Save time, money, and avoid the lines while printing out your card from your home. Another printing option would be to purchase pre-scored cards and envelopes which would eliminate the need to cut a standard sheet of cardstock in half.
If cutting your standard cardstock paper in half; make one cut, 5.5″ x 8.5″, which will create 2 “cards” to print. Use a paper cutter or a rotary and cutting mat. Accuracy is crucial.
Print or handwrite your own thoughtful greeting on the inside of the card. These cards can be written with a sentimental note for a loved one or with a generic greeting for co-workers, neighbors, and acquaintances. Mail or hand-deliver these beautiful statements. Print as many as you like to give for many years to come.
Check your printer settings before printing. You may have to check the box “fit to be printed area”. See Printing instructions and information here.
Adding embellishments are easy. Be creative with how many you would like to add. Metallic pens and markers make the handwritten card more special. If you have a talent in calligraphy, all the better to let it shine inside the card! I like to purchase a premade scored printed or solid color background and print the card at a reduced image and cut it out and glue it on top of the cardstock. See the gallery image. If you’d like to try the route, you will be able to get 4 card fronts out of one sheet of cardstock paper!
Try kicking it up a notch with watercolor, Kraft cardstock, or photo paper. Have fun and experiment with different types and colors of papers. Using a torn edge and applying chalk ink or watercolor paints makes it your very own work of art!
If using watercolor paper, ink-jet printers are recommended as laser printers do not have the same characteristics as an ink-jet printer when printing on watercolor paper. Printable cotton sheets look lovely too! For tags, my favorite is Kraft cardstock!
